The Air Rift is perceived as one of the brand’s most revolutionary styles, and this season it fulfils every trend requirement with a bold leopard print update. The OG Nike Air Rift was released in ’96, overseen by Tinker Hatfield, inspired by barefoot Kenyan running athletes and named after Kenya’s Rift Valley. The shoe’s main feature is the unique split toe design and rubber toe guard. The shoe wasn’t heavily advertised at its release but due to the unusual features, the Rift became something of a Nike classic — and has been ever since.
